Trek Metals Unveils Gold Targets at Christmas Creek Project

Trek Metals, an Australian mining company, has uncovered new gold targets at its Christmas Creek project in Western Australia. While the Martin prospect has been the primary focus of exploration efforts, Trek Metals is now turning its attention to evaluating the potential of the Zahn and Coogan prospects within the project.

Recent detailed individual meter assays from drilling activities have revealed that both the Zahn and Coogan prospects hold significant promise as large-scale targets at the Christmas Creek gold project. The Zahn prospect, in particular, has displayed classic characteristics of a major orogenic gold camp, with drill results indicating encouraging intersections of gold mineralization.

The discovery at Zahn is particularly noteworthy as it was previously an unexplained anomaly before drilling commenced in 2024. The assay results from Zahn, including intersections with low but significant gold grades, suggest the presence of structures indicative of a major gold-bearing geological setting. These findings have led to the identification of high-priority drill targets for future exploration activities.

Additionally, the reinterpretation of magnetic data has provided further insights into the geological features of the Zahn prospect, highlighting the presence of antiformal structures adjacent to a large-scale shear zone. The intersections associated with magnetic dolerite units have been deemed significant, with untested strike extents offering compelling targets for upcoming drilling operations.

The positive results at Zahn complement the ongoing exploration at the Martin prospect, where previous drilling activities have yielded high-grade gold mineralization. Trek Metals is optimistic about the potential for a significant greenfields gold discovery at Christmas Creek, supported by the encouraging outcomes at both the Martin and Zahn prospects.

Furthermore, the Coogan prospect, another sizeable soil anomaly within the project area, has also shown promising signs of low-grade mineralization. The identification of multi-kilometer scale targets at Christmas Creek suggests the presence of large-scale mineral systems that could host substantial metal accumulations.

Looking ahead, Trek Metals plans to commence drilling at the Martin prospect in May, emphasizing its status as a priority target. However, the company also intends to conduct further exploration at the Zahn and Coogan prospects, leveraging the newly refined targets and geological interpretations to guide future field activities.

The unveiling of these gold targets underscores the exciting greenfields exploration opportunities at Christmas Creek, positioning Trek Metals at the forefront of gold exploration in Western Australia. With a strategic focus on high-potential drill targets and a commitment to unlocking the project’s mineral potential, Trek Metals is poised for further success in its quest for significant gold discoveries.
