A man has been apprehended in Wee Jasper concerning the purported theft of silver bullion worth a million dollars in 2021. Maclean John Fittler, aged 40, was taken into custody at a property in Wee Jasper and was subsequently denied bail during his court appearance at Goulburn Local Court. He faces charges related to larceny and being armed with intent to commit an indictable offense.

The incident revolves around the alleged disappearance of 960 kilograms of silver bullion from a consignment truck traveling from Maldon to Melbourne between late November 26 and early November 29, 2021. The 192 bars of silver bullion, each weighing 5 kilograms, were reported missing upon the truck’s arrival in Melbourne.
